Future Sound of Petržalka
"Hip hop will be replaced by 8bit disco from the 1980s, rap will be replaced by low quality and unintelligible records of drunkheads and producents will find out the hidden beauty of normalization pop...” This is the message from 2020, the new project of Slovak netlabel afera.sk. Future Sounds of Petržalka plays “futuristic retro”, digging out evergreens of Richard Muller, Karel Gott or Maťo Ďurinda in a 8bit style, mixed with a taste of bizarre electro-pop. Devoted to analog sound with no computer, the whole set is being played on the sampler, drum machine and other hardware homemade instruments.
