This is particularly strong in the USA, where communities like 8bitpeoples have been creating music, videos and arts mixing 8-bit video games aesthetics with current art productions. The “8-bit scene” has long surpassed its hobbyist background and is now considered full-fledged part of the contemporary art scene, while maintaining its strong nostalgia factor. Last year, an event dedicated to this phenomenon, Blip Festival, has taken place in New York to great acclaim. In cooperation with Blip, Sperm Festival will bring up the yet most complex 8-bit scene presentation in Europe!
In cooperation with Blip Festival, New York, Trust of Mutual Understanding and Austrian Cultural Forum in Prague.
