Tonic Train are a nomadic electronic experimental duo (Sarah Washington comes originally from London and Knut Auferman from the BRD; presently, both live in Germany). Tonic Train combine the sound of DIY electro acoustic instruments with the use of electronic feedback; they are active in the field of abstract and concrete style of electronic noise. Their music harks back to methods used by the founders of electronic music: the appropriation of  electronic circles indicating the birth of a new sound and the experimental use of electronic devices for the creation of feedback. Tonic Train were inspired first of all by the pioneers of electronic sound, David Tudor and Gordon Mummy. Tonic Train eventually became a part of various music projects such as Xentos 'Fray' Bentos, and they also collaborated with the musicians and composers Nicolas Collins, Toshimaru Nakamura, Billy Roisz or Otomo Yoshihide. During the last couple of years Sarah and Knut worked on a program of the independent radio station Resonance104.4 fm (http://www.resonancefm.com). Mobile Radio is classical radio project applying alternative radio strategies in order to spread its message throughout the country.
