The artist duo Echo Ho and Hannes Hoelzl deals with sonic art and refer to themselves as "sound nomads". Echo Ho graduated film and television at the Academy for Performing Arts in Hong Kong and after moving to Europe from the Media Arts Academy in Cologne on Rhein. Hannes Hoelzl studied technology of sound at the Academy of Performing Arts in Gratz and later sound design and music technology at the School of Arts in Utrecht, Netherlands. Apart from using open source software (Pure Data and Super Collider) he also constructs his own analogue instrumenes and instalations, for example by the modification of already existing devices (so called "circuit bending").
