Like others, the British set-up Digitonal are returning to the stages of the Sperm festival after their set last year, this time in their complete line-up, to present their unique sound to Prague audiences. Their work is characterized by solid rhythms blended with strings. In the music of this London formation one finds tradition and experiment intertwined. Their diverse influences range from Autechre and Aphexe Twin to the Monteverdi and Henry Purcell. At the moment, Digitonal consist of four musicians: on the stage next to composer and founder Andrew Dobson, are the violinist Sami Bishai, percussionist and drummer Callum Macmillan and Kat Arney on harp, clarinet and various other instruments. In their live performance, these musicians present at once an abstract and incredibly tangible musical landscape.
